Usually movie lists bore or anger me.  But this one is actually quite varied and interesting-many of the films are worth seeing even if you don't have kids.  My recommendations(from the list): Cocteau's "Beauty & The Beast", "City Lights", "Seventh Voyage of Sinbad" and "The Secret of Roan Inish"...just to start :-)

Leonardo DiCaprio is a fine actor(What's Eating Gilbert Grape is still one of my favorite films), but casting him to play Cap would be wrong on all levels.

Matt Damon is Steve Rogers.

Now this is good news. Warner/DC are falling way behind Marvel with superhero movies. The Superman franchise is floundering. It was (IMO) a big mistake to introduce the Joker in the second Batman film-because where do you go after the Joker? He's the best villain Batman has. So its doubtful there'll be a third Batman film for awhile. And the Wonder Woman movie can't seem to get off the ground.

So Warner needs to move away from the big three and focus on some other characters. Green Lantern is a good choice. He has exciting origin story that would translate well to the big screen, and with CGI effects it would be easy to incorporate the galactic elements of the Green Lantern. Seeing the Green Lantern Corps tearing it up out in space would be wicked pissah! ;-)

Obviously, few stumblers will be able to attend this series(which highlights several lesser known noirs). But the review is also a decent essay on the genre. And there's always Netfilx.
